We are working with Michael Chen's team to develop an industrial project (~£402k) on anti-cancer nanomedicines for safe, fast and effective cancer treatment. This project is under contract with one of our industrial partners. This project is now under contract with Edinburgh Innovations. Congratulations!

See the left for an IAESTE-featured successful story from Ms Tamara Matic. She was a motivated and productive master intern in our group between May 2018 and August 2018, working on Ultrathin Membranes Composed of 2D Materials for Carbon Capture from Mixture Gas. We are happy to know that this experience has stimulated her a huge interest in pursuing a P.h.D, right on her way to be a true researcher. 

 

We appreciate IAESTE for supporting this fantastic internship and would like to accommodate more enthusiastic interns from all of the world. For candidates who are interested in joining us but holds funding support, just contact us for placement.

We thank PERVATECH BV and Dr Ir. Rob de Lange (Chief Commercial Officer) for their in-kind support to our research at the University of Edinburgh. This nicely designed SS316 membrane module type PVM-025-1 will be one of the central components in our crossflow cell system which is designed for continuous gas or liquid separation on ultrathin zeolite (or MOF) membranes.

Our paper titled "Liquid Phase Multicomponent Adsorption and Separation of Xylene Mixtures by Flexible MIL-53 Adsorbents" is published in The Journal of Physical Chemistry C. Dr Huang is one of the lead authors. Congratulations!

Dr Huang visited Prof Huanting Wang and Dr Anital J. Hill at Monash University and  Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), respectively.

 

Dr Huang presented our recent research on Nanostructure Engineering of Porous Materials for Efficient Separation both at Monash University and CSIRO.

International Journal of Bioprocessing and Biotechniques is a peer-reviewed open access online journal which publishes disseminate ongoing research in multidisciplinary fields of using living cells and their components to obtain desired products from advanced technologies. This journal publishes research articles, review articles, case reports, mini reviews, editorials, perspective and short communications, etc.

Dr Huang was honoured as an Organizing Committee Member for “7th Edition of International Conference and Exhibition on Separation Techniques’’ during July 5-7, 2018 at Berlin, Germany. This conference is focusing on the theme – Launching the Innovative Ideas and Technologies of Separation Techniques.

Dr Huang was invited to guest edit a special issue in Membranes — Open Access Membrane Technology Journal addressing the topic of "Smart Membranes for Oil/Water Separation".

 

This Special Issue of Membranes attempts to include latest innovations in preparation and characterization of smart membranes and coatings, advanced oil/water separation processes, and modeling of the behavior of smart membranes. We encourage authors, especially those from top laboratories, to submit their latest results. Submissions of high-quality research in membrane scaling-up production/commercialization are also welcomed.
